Formula
Keyword Golden Ratio = Allintitle results / Estimated monthly search volumeDirect answer
Divide the allintitle result count by the estimated monthly search volume for the same keyword. Niche Site Project identifies KGR as its concept and formula; CalcMotive reports the arithmetic without claiming that any ratio guarantees a ranking outcome.
Variables and formula
- Allintitle results: the count from one exact-title search query.
- Estimated monthly search volume: the chosen data provider’s positive estimate for that phrase.
KGR = Allintitle results / Estimated monthly search volume
Reproducible example
If an allintitle search returns 24 results and the selected source estimates 120 monthly searches, 24 / 120 = 0.20. That is also 20 allintitle results per 100 estimated searches.
Interpretation
The result is a reproducible input ratio. Search counts and volume estimates change, and a ratio cannot capture relevance, quality, demand, indexing, competitors or search-engine ranking systems.
Assumptions and limitations
- Both inputs describe the same phrase and collection time.
- Monthly volume is an estimate, not observed visits.
- The calculation is a heuristic and does not forecast traffic or revenue.
Common mistakes
- Dividing an allintitle count for one phrase by volume for a different phrase.
- Treating estimated search volume as guaranteed visits.
- Using the result as proof that content will rank.
Assumptions
- Both inputs refer to the same keyword phrase and time of collection.
- The search-volume figure is an estimate from a chosen data provider.
- This ratio is a research heuristic; it does not predict rankings, traffic, revenue, indexing or search-engine behavior.
