Formula selection
We favor standard, explainable formulas that match the question stated on the page. When several valid models exist, the page describes the model used and its limitations.
Calculation standards
- Calculation functions are separated from interface code.
- Every tool includes at least one independently checkable worked example.
- Automated tests cover known results, missing values, boundaries, decimals, large values and invalid denominators.
- Results never intentionally return undefined, infinity or not-a-number values.
- Currency selectors change presentation only; they do not imply live exchange rates.
Sources and review
Sources help define a metric or document a platform-specific convention. Each published citation records its title, publisher, URL and access date. A source does not endorse CalcMotive. Pages display their formula version or revision summary and last review date. Review dates change only after a substantive update.
What review means
CalcMotive uses a documented process, not a fictional expert byline. In the versioned catalog, formula review and editorial review mean that the named automated fixtures, invalid-output, content, source, link, canonical and structure gates passed for that published revision. They do not claim specialist endorsement or personal expertise. Final release approval is recorded by a non-bot repository-owner merge after the release evidence is available; regulated, health, legal, tax and advanced-finance work still requires separate documented specialist approval.
