Interpretation
Read the result as kilowatts, not megawatts. A value entered as MW leaves the calculator labelled kW; this directional distinction matters even when the two units describe the same power quantity.
Assumptions and limitations
- Only non-negative power magnitudes are accepted; direction of power flow requires a signed model.
- Horsepower means mechanical horsepower defined as 550 international foot-pounds-force per second, using standard gravity; metric, electric, boiler, water, and other horsepower variants differ.
- Btu per hour means International Table Btu per hour (Btu_IT/h), not a thermochemical or other Btu variant.
